Growing the Shire’s Creative Industries sector
Proving the claim that the Southern Highlands is ‘full of creatives’
A second research project has been funded by Council’s Community Assistance Scheme to document the diversity of creative practice, and quantify the size of the sector to the Shire’s economy.
This project follows research conducted in November 2020 on the value of art and culture to the Southern Highlands community. There was a survey component to that project and the analysis from over 700 submissions was a valuable contribution to the report which is available here.
The current project was devised to deliver on one of the recommendations of the initial report. The aim is to increase the visibility, connectivity and economic capabilities of the Southern Highlands creative industries now, and in the future; generate work between and for local creatives and attract work to the region.
The project is managed by the Creative Industries Cluster Southern Highlands (CiCSH), supported by the Southern Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A survey has been developed by the project consultant, to provide information for a report that will inform future actions for sector development and advocacy.
To register your creative contribution to our local community and economy, please complete the survey here. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and is open until 14 February 2022.
