Council Visit to Balmoral Village Hall

29 May 2025

Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick and Councillor David Kent recently visited Balmoral Village Hall to meet with members of the Balmoral Village Association and hear directly from the community.

The visit included a tour of the village hall and its well-maintained grounds, which feature a playground, tennis court, fitness equipment, BBQ area and picnic facilities. The site is maintained by the local community and has benefited from various grants over the years.

Association members shared the rich history of Balmoral Village, originally established in the 1860s as a railway camp. The village has since grown into a close-knit rural community, proud of its heritage and committed to maintaining its facilities.

The community raised several key issues during the visit, including a request for Council to formally recognise the official name "Balmoral Village" in all communications, the need for a safe emergency access route via Wilson Drive, and support to improve local open space and recreational infrastructure.

Council appreciates the opportunity to engage with Balmoral residents and thanks the Association for their warm welcome. Feedback from village communities is vital in shaping future plans and ensuring services and infrastructure meet local needs.
