We are currently seeking community input on two options for an upgraded playspace at Colo Vale Railway Park. The park is located within walking distance of the Colo Vale Community Centre and the Colo Vale Heritage Train Station along Railway Avenue, Colo Vale.

The upgraded railway park will provide a range of benefits to residents and visitors of Colo Vale, including children and young people who will use it and the wider community around it. Further benefits include:

• Increased health and happiness where physical activity is encouraged and will keep our children healthy and strong.
• A stronger community where the upgraded park will become a local hub for Colo Vale families to connect. Residents will have the opportunity to meet their neighbours, chat while the kids play, and build a sense of belonging.
• Creating beautiful neighbourhoods with a well-designed play area that enhances the look and feel of the local Colo Vale community.
• Foster inclusiveness where the upgraded park will provide a social hub for children and young people through interactive play.

Community Consultation Period

The community consultation period was open from Monday 18 November and closed on Sunday 8 December 2024. Council invited written submissions to be received from the community during this period. An online survey on this page was available for the community to complete and share feedback about which option was preferred during this time.

Community Drop-In Sessions

In partnership with the Colo Vale Community Association and the landowners of Railway Park, Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE), Council held two drop in face-to-face sessions.

These sessions provided an opportunity for the local Colo Vale community to share feedback about both options presented. These sessions were held at the Colo Vale Community Centre and Memorial Hall on Tuesday 26 November 2024 in the morning and afternoon.

We would like to know which option you prefer. The final design will take into account community preferences as well as approval from the landowners, Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE). Please review Option A and Option B before completing the survey below:

Colo Vale Railway Park has been designed under a Level 2 Playspace in Council's Playspace Strategy and maintains a level of consistency across Council's newly upgraded Playspaces.

Council is currently reviewing feedback received. A report is currently being developed which will be presented to Council in early 2025.
