Council's Draft Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy and Statement of Business Ethics is currently on public exhibition for a period of 28 days from Tuesday 2 April until Tuesday 30 April 2024.

POLICY OBJECTIVES:

  • This policy has been developed to set the framework for Council’s zero-tolerance approach to fraud and corruption.
  • Fraud and corruption are incompatible with our values and present a risk to the achievement of our objectives and the provision of our services to the public, in a cost-efficient, effective and ethical manner.
  • The public, our employees and other people we deal with are entitled to expect all Council officials to act with integrity and to protect resources, information, reputation and the public interest. Therefore, Council is committed to an honest and ethical environment that minimises fraud and corruption.

EXHIBITION PERIOD DATES:

The exhibition period will open Tuesday 2 April 2024 and close on Tuesday 30 April 2024 (total of 28 days).

Your personal information contained in your submission is collected by Council for the purpose of corresponding with you about your submission. If you make an anonymous submission, Council will be unable to contact you further. A summary of the points made in your submission will be contained in the Council meetings business paper and made public on Council’s website.

FURTHER INFORMATION:
Only written submissions can be considered and these must be received by Council before 4.30pm on Tuesday 30 April 2024.

Please note that any submissions may be included in the report to Council.

NEXT STEPS:
Following the completion of the exhibition period, any submissions will be considered before the Policy is adopted by Council.
