In 2023, Council partnered with the Institute for Sensible Transport to create the Wingecarribee Integrated Transport Strategy. The Strategy was adopted by Council at the Ordinary Meeting of Council - 16 April 2025.
This strategy aims to achieve:
- Less through traffic in the heart of our main townships.
- Vibrant, people-centred places that offer better social and economic outcomes.
- A comprehensive walking and cycling network that connects the missing links in our already extensive shared path network.
- Better parking management and less frustration.
- Enhanced public transport options, including more frequent services and better local transport solutions.
- Better freight options, particularly utilising rail networks to reduce trucks on our residential streets while ensuring freight can get where it needs to go.
The public exhibition period was held from Monday 20 May until Monday 17 June 2024.
