Background:
Festival of Lights is an event that transforms Corbett Gardens into a magical wonderland, running from 17 - 31 December 2024. This annual celebration features:
- Large-scale illuminations and immersive light art sculptures that light up buildings and natural environments.
- Fun, family-friendly events and concerts for all ages.
- Community involvement through local groups and organisations that activate various spaces within the festival.
Council's 2024 holiday Christmas program proposes providing funding support for the Festival of Lights with $25,000 and waiving fees for using the Senior Citizens rooms in Corbett Gardens for festival activities up to $7,000.
