Draft Assessment of Development Applications Including Conflict of Interest Policy

The draft Assessment of Development Applications Including Conflict of Interest Policy was open for consultation from 14 October to 11 November 2022.

The Assessment of Development Applications Including Conflict of Interest Policy was adopted by Council on 14 December 2022 and is available on Council's website by clicking here.


On 21 September 2022, Council resolved to exhibit a draft Assessment of Development Applications Involving Conflict of Interest Policy. The draft policy has been developed to ensure that development assessment recommendations are provided to Council or the Wingecarribee Local Planning Panel in a defensible, open and transparent manner where there is a conflict of interest or perceived conflict of interest in relation to the landowner, applicant or applicant's consultant, including former staff member of Council.

The draft policy has been prepared to supplement relevant sections of Council's Code of Conduct.

A former employee is defined in the draft policy as a 'person who was a staff member of the Council within the previous three years of the adoption date of the draft policy'.


On 21 September 2022, Council resolved

THAT the draft Assessment of Development Applications Involving Conflict of Interest Policy be placed on public exhibition for 28 days.
