Draft Code of Meeting Practice exhibited

11 April 2019

The Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW was prescribed by the NSW Government on 14 December 2018 and is comprised of mandatory and non-mandatory provisions.

Wingecarribee Shire Council has placed a draft Code of Meeting Practice on public exhibition. The draft Code includes all mandatory provisions of the Model Meeting Code. It is also proposed that some of the non-mandatory provisions are included in Council’s draft Code along with best practice supplementary provisions.

It is a statutory requirement that the Code of Meeting Practice be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. Submissions can be received for a further 14 days at the conclusion of the formal exhibition period.

The Draft Code of Meeting Practice has accordingly been placed on exhibition from 11 April 2019 with submissions to be received no later than 9am, Friday 24 May 2019.
