Policies on Exhibition

14 July 2021

Feedback is sought on the following Council policies which are currently on public exhibition until 29 August 2021.

Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy

The draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy aims to establish a framework by which councillors can access the information they need to perform their civic functions and promote positive and respectful interactions between councillors and staff.

Social Media Policy

The draft Social Media Policy has been developed ensure there are clear standards of conduct for all council officials who use social media in their official capacity.

Media Policy

The draft Media Policy aims to clearly identify Council’s authorised spokespersons, promote positive media relationships and support a coordinated, professional and consistent approach to media liaison.

All three policies have been placed on public exhibition from 16 July to 29 August 2021 to allow plenty of time for submissions to be received prior to the local government election scheduled for 4 September 2021.

Reports outlining the submissions received and any required policy amendments will be tabled for adoption by the new Council.
