Help Shape Our New Library Plan

Our libraries play a vital and valued role in shaping the cultural and social character of the Wingecarribee Shire.

We're developing a new Library Plan to ensure libraries continue to support our community as hubs for creativity, knowledge and connectivity and we need your help to help shape it.

We know that libraries in Wingecarribee are well loved and well used.

The development of this plan will allow our libraries to respond to current and future community needs for spaces and services, programming, collections, resources and emerging technology. It will help to better inform and direct service development and delivery for the next five years.

Below are some key facts and figures that our libraries experienced during the 2024/25 period:

  • Loans

Our libraries loaned a total of 315,193 items

  • Events

  • Visits

A total of 138,509 people visited our libraries

  • Access & Belonging

Ensuring our libraries are welcoming and accessible to all members of the community, whilst fostering a sense of belonging

  • Spaces & Places

Creating welcoming, inclusive, and modern physical spaces that meet the evolving needs of our community

  • Programs & Services

Delivering relevant programs and services that serve our community’s needs both now and in the next five years

  • Learning & Creativity

Your feedback is a way for you to share your thoughts and ideas on a particular issue or project. The goal is to make sure your voice and the community’s voices are heard and considered. It helps provide valuable insights, identify potential issues and suggest improvements. This way, decisions can be more inclusive, transparent and effective, reflecting what you and the community really needs and wants.

Responses to engagement projects are compiled and considered. When projects are reported to Council to make a decision a summary of community feedback will be included. Updates on projects will be included in these pages and elsewhere on Council's website.

Sometimes it takes some months to provide feedback to the community and to make a decision as further investigation is often needed. We are listening and we do take your suggestions on board!
